who we are

The Battlefords Agricultural Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting agriculture, community spirit, and lifelong memories. Since 1884, we’ve hosted fairs, exhibitions, and events that bring people together and showcase our region’s vibrant culture. We operate year-round, offering facilities, programs, and experiences that serve both rural and urban residents. Our mission is simple—connect, celebrate, and support our community.

Our History / Timeline

Over the years, we have successfully hosted more than 100 events, bringing the community together. Our facilities have served thousands of members, fostering connections and promoting local agriculture.

1884

Founded as the Battle River Agricultural Society.

1887

First fair held on October 12 (1885 fair cancelled due to the Riel Rebellion).

1937

Fair officially opened by Grey Owl.

1951

Prime Minister St. Laurent presided over the fair opening.

1956

Name changed to Battlefords Agricultural Society.

2020

Fair cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Today

Continuing to grow, host events, and serve the community year-round.
